Going with the Grain?

We’re beavering away at the Totnes10 HQ putting together the final touches for the Forking Local Food Festival happening on the 8th October. In the run up to the festival we’ll be showcasing some of the producers and foodie folk who’ll be there on the day.

F irst up it the New Lion Brewery. Their goal is to support the economic regeneration of Totnes, and to be as local as they can be.

New Lion Brewery are true innovators. Each year at the Local Entrepreneur Forum they support one local enterprise with a collaborative beer. Recent brews have been with Mercury Prize winners British Sea Power, called 'British Sea Power IPA' who headlined the Sea Change Festival and with Wild & Curious a nettle and ginger beer called 'Definitely Mabey', honouring Richard Mabey, author of 'Food for Free'.

Come and chat to them at the Forking Local Food Festival

This year the brewery launched their hop club, and are brewing a very special local brew with the hop harvest, malt from Newton Abbot and locally grown grain from Grown in Totnes, pretty close to an all local beer! This, we think, is one not to miss at the festival. And a bells and whistles kind of excitement from us at how an innovative brew can support our local economy and put a big smile on our faces.
